Typical
to-scale blueprint design from English Country Gardens
With
all the pertinent information gathered from your estimates/planning
session, your designer will
begin taking measurements, grade notations, and photographs
of your site to transfer to a design layout.
On
completing the design, which usually takes 1-2 weeks, your
designer will contact you to set up an appointment at your
home or our Garden Centre.
The
design, a to-scale blueprint drawin
g,
will show the exact location, number, and varieties of trees,
shrubs, and perennials. Your design will specify all construction
elements , which your designer can explain in detail. At your
home, your designer will also have photos of the actual plants
to help you begin to 'picture' your garden. If you choose
to have your design presented at the Garden
Centre, your designer can actually show you the plants
and materials to be used in your garden. For instance, if
your plan includes a colonial stone wall with flagstone cap,
we will show you photos of similar walls and give you the
addresses and contact information of local clients who have
had similar projects installed.
You'll
find a detailed planting and/or construction installation
estimate in your package. At this point, your designer
will ask you a few questions. Can you afford to have it done
all at once? If not, which part of the design is your
priority? Do you want the patio put in before the screening?
Can we create and plant the beds before we build the retaining
wall? Our job is to not only give you advice about the
order in which the work should be done, but also to work within
your budget. It's best for both of us if we don't have to
"redo" work over time--more economical for you and
time-saving for us.
If
you like what you see and decide to continue, we then move
into the installation &
construction phase of your project.
